Learners explore the wonders of the human digestive system

Wallscourt Farm Academy’s Year 3 learners have been stepping into the shoes of scientists to begin an exciting enquiry into the human digestive system.
Through hands-on and delightfully messy activities, pupils discovered what happens to food and drink as it travels through the body.
The practical approach helped bring their learning to life, making the complex processes of digestion both accessible and memorable.
This immersive experience not only sparked curiosity but also encouraged the young scientists to ask questions, explore, and develop a deeper understanding of how their bodies work.
Reuben Boocock, Year 3 Class Teacher, and Assistant Principal said: “Pupils have absolutely loved getting hands-on with their science learning.
“Exploring the digestive system in such a fun and messy way has really helped them understand what happens inside their own bodies — it’s been a brilliant start to our enquiry
