Pupils explore fair testing at Wallscourt Farm

Year 5 pupils at Wallscourt Farm Academy have been busy investigating the key question: What is a fair test?

Learners planned and conducted a fascinating experiment exploring crystallisation using salt-water solutions. They carefully recorded their observations and discussed how to keep their tests fair and reliable.

It has been wonderful to see their curiosity and collaboration shine through as they developed their scientific thinking and oracy skills.

Lutz Mae Happe, Year 5 class teacher, said: “It’s been fantastic to see the children so engaged in hands-on science.

“They’ve shown great teamwork and thoughtful questioning as they explored how scientists ensure results are accurate and fair.

“This kind of practical learning really brings science to life and helps build confidence in communicating their ideas.”
