Pupils explore ‘Where is my school?’ at Wallscourt Academy

Pupils at Wallscourt Farm Academy have begun their new enquiry topic, ‘Where is my school?’.
As part of their learning, children explored the four countries that make up the United Kingdom and discovered how to use the four main compass directions — north, east, south and west.
To bring their learning to life, the learners headed outdoors into the Key Stage 1 garden, using maps of the school to follow directions to different landmarks, including the field and the playpod.
Ellie Todd, Class Teacher at Wallscourt Farm Academy, said: “The children have really enjoyed becoming explorers of their own school!
It’s been wonderful to see them use maps and directions to navigate real places — their enthusiasm and curiosity have been fantastic.”
